3D Modeling for Gaslamp Media, Inc.
3D Renders | Texturing | Photo Editing
Here are some 3D renders that I created for Gaslamp Media. The company used these models on an Etsy store (A Custom Cut). Renders easily show different material and color options for each product. They also provide clear views of materials that are more difficult to photograph, such as mirrored acrylic.
I needed to match the colors and textures of actual signs as closely as possible. For example, a laser cutter darkens the edges of wood, while a CNC machine does not. Likewise, “gold mirror acrylic” is actually a combination of clear, mirror, and grey surfaces.
The “A”, “Avery”, and “custom” examples began as 2D text, which I converted to 3D meshes. After I refined the designs, I added textures and shaders to replicate wood and acrylic. Once the lighting and renders were complete, I did the final post-processing in Photoshop.
